Gift Aid

Gift Aid is a scheme run by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC)  that allows The Hairdressers’ Charity to reclaim the basic rate of tax on your donation. By signing up for Gift Aid it means that with every pound you donate, we get an extra 25 p from HMRC, at no extra cost to you. For example, if you donate £100, that would actually give us £125.

It is very important you fill out your forms with us accurately so we can claim Gift Aid, including your title, full name, home address, postcode and clear indication that you wish to declare Gift Aid (Gift Aid tick box).

To be eligible for Gift Aid you must have first paid UK Income or Capitals Gains Tax that financial year.

If you are a higher rate taxpayer you can claim additional tax benefits for the donations you make. Simply include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return.

If you are unsure whether your donations qualify for Gift Aid please contact your local tax office

Gift Aid Declaration

By ticking the box to claim Gift Aid on our sponsorship and supporters club forms, you are confirming that you are a UK taxpayer and you want all donations that you have made in the last 4 years and future donations to be Gift Aid donations until you notify us otherwise. You understand that if you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all of your donations in that tax year it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

Please notify us if you want to cancel your declaration, change your name or home address, or you no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains.
