Friday 30th June saw the day we’ve all been waiting for… Helping Hairdressers’ Day 2017!
Salons, hairdressers, industry experts and business all got creative to raise much-needed funds for Helping Hairdressers in Need. In its third year, the theme was ‘all things purple’, to help focus on spreading awareness of The Hairdressers’ Charity.
We think this year was definitely our best year yet, with many salons sharing their ‘fun-raisers’ on social media, and even running online auctions. We loved seeing everyone come together to raise funds and awareness.
Just some of the salons that got involved were…
Jamie Stevens. Their day was all about a £10 raffle entry to win a whole head of highlights, and of course a cake sale, which just looked delicious!
Bruce-Low. Iain Bruce-Low ran an auction over on his Facebook page, of a pair of scissors generously donated by Yoi Scissors which raised £165. There was also cakes and a raffle, all in total raised a whopping £1,500!
OneTwoSix. Their client’s days were filled with doughnuts and coffee, however, salon owner Let Lew did something a little extraordinary and shaved his hair live on Facebook! From this alone, he raised £230 and ended up raising £509 in total with all the events. We were a little overwhelmed!
Alan Howard. We loved the concept of profits from purple products being donated and Alan Howard did exactly that. Alongside all the purple product selling they also baked cakes, dressed in purple and had purple hair!
Sarai Hair and Beauty. The girls in the salon have been busy racking up steps over the month, and the salon had the idea to run a competition to guess the number of steps they have walked over the month… There were also sweets and cakes sold on the day… raising a total of £111.15!
Remi Cachet. As they were already signed up as a company, Remi Cachet used Easyfundraising to raise money for Helping Hairdressers Day. A donation of 4% of every purchase made through easyfundraising came to us – wow!
Harvey Luke. This was the most purple we saw! The salon went above and beyond with purple decorations, cakes and glitter!
SJ Forbes. Do we need to say much more than purple glitter beards?! SJ Forbes wore purple glitter and ran competitions.
The Gallery. 100 squares, one square for £5 to get the chance to win some purple GHD’s.
Also a big thank you to all the other salons and businesses who got involved including The Stress Exchange, Fudge Professional, Siren Salon, Affinage, Rainbow room, NHF, Saks Kingshill, Boki’s Hair, Sharon Malcolm, Ciente, Baileys Hair, Jason Liddiard, Akito, Wispers, Hair Advice Centre, Richard Ward, Leo Bancroft
Thank you to everyone who got involved, it was such a fun filled day, with cupcakes, purple prosecco, and raffles, we were jealous that we couldn’t visit everyone!
Here’s to many more #HelpingHairdressersDay to come!
